Photo Shoot #119, Preikestolen Norway
After finishing up our trip in Iceland, it was time for Jennifer and I to have a little time to ourselves. We headed to the very popular Preikestolen rock in Norway.
It was crowded as hell, but absolutely stunning. After our week of rain in Iceland we were very concerned with the forecasts. However, we had four days to play with and they predicted two days of good weather.
We stayed at the Preikestolen Mountain Lodge which at $100 a night for two dorm room beds sounds expensive, however it was an incredible bargain. Situated at the base of the hike, it was far more convenient that the campgrounds. The dorm rooms we stays in were not crowded but spacious with private dining areas and an amazing breakfast was included. Given the price of everything else in Norway this was a steal. The start of our hike up to the cliff was in a misty, foggy rain that didn't offer us much hope. Patience won out though as we waited the sky cleared then closed in again, before finally granting us a clear view.
Unlike a postcard, you can't get a solo shot of yourself, but people were willing to at least let Jennifer pose near the edge of a nearly two thousand foot drop. I am sure her mom appreciates these shots. :)

The last shot was actually at the request of a Norwegian guy that wanted to pose with Jennifer. Lots of people snuck a shot with her. He was the only one polite enough to ask.
